3rd Global Summit on Diamond Open Access
Collaboration for Equitable Digital Infrastructures and Knowledge Commons in Agriculture and Broader Scientific Research Systems
2-6 February 2026 | Bengaluru, India

We are pleased to announce the release of the programme and the opening of registrations for the 3rd Global Summit on Diamond Open Access, to be held from 2 to 6 February 2026 in Bengaluru, India.
The Global Summit on Diamond Open Access brings together the worldwide Diamond Open Access community to foster dialogue among a broad range of participants, including scholarly community representatives, policy makers, research funders, librarians, publishers, and other key stakeholders. The Summit provides a unique international forum to share experiences, address challenges, and collaboratively shape the future of Diamond Open Access.
A central outcome of the 2026 Summit will be the development of a Roadmap for Diamond Open Access, offering concrete, actionable recommendations that stakeholders can adapt and implement within their local and regional contexts.
About the 3rd Edition
This third edition builds on the strong foundations laid by the First Global Summit for Diamond Open Access, held in Toluca, Mexico (October 2023), and the Second Global Summit, held in Cape Town, South Africa (December 2024).
Together, these earlier Summits brought hundreds of participants from around the world and led to important collective outcomes, including the Toluca-Cape Town Declaration on Diamond Open Access.
The Bengaluru Summit continues this momentum, further strengthening global collaboration and shared commitment to equitable, community-governed scholarly communication. The programme will include numerous thematic tracks for in-depth discussions, as well as a session reflecting on the role of early-stage researchers.
Programme and Registration
The Summit programme is now available and features a diverse range of sessions designed to support exchange across regions and stakeholder groups, encourage practical collaboration, and advance shared strategies for Diamond Open Access, in all academic disciplines.
Registrations are now open, and we warmly invite members of the global scholarly communication community and all interested stakeholders to join us in Bengaluru.
To ensure balanced and inclusive representation, the confirmation of registration will be communicated following the organizers review.
