Data Protection and Privacy Notice
Pursuant to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Society for Promotion of Horticulture (SPH), Bengaluru act as joint data controllers for the processing of personal data in connection with the registration and organisation of this event.
Personal data provided by participants through the registration form shall be processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently, and solely for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes, namely:
- registration for the event;
- organisational and logistical arrangements related to participation; and
- communication of information directly related to the event.
The processing of personal data is based on the data subject’s consent and, where applicable, on the necessity of processing for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest. Appropriate technical and organisational measures have been implemented to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
Personal data shall not be retained longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed and shall not be shared with third parties except where required for the organisation of the event or where required by law. Participants have the right to access, rectify, restrict, or erase their personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

Photography and Audiovisual Recording
During parts of the event, photography and audiovisual recording may take place for documentation and dissemination purposes. Images and recordings may be published on institutional websites, social media platforms, and in future publications to illustrate and report on the activities of the organisers. Participants who do not wish to appear in such material should notify a representative of SPH or the designated photographer during the event.
Future Communications
Email addresses may be collected for the purpose of future communications related to Global Summit activities. Such processing shall take place only on the basis of explicit consent, which may be withdrawn at any time.
